Ok...so...
It's like this.
The powers that be (I suppose SATAN and his minions in this case) took a second of their time and decided that they'd make something super special, and just for me.
They were all like...hey, this girl, she likes survival horror games..and like...Resident Evil..and No More Heroes...oh, and like..her favorite composer is Akira Yamaoka.....we should make it so they all come together to make a fucking badass game about some dude who goes to hell.
Oh, WAIT. You know what would really BLOW HER MIND? Let's have Kyu Hayashida work on it, too!!
And well, shit.
I cannot express how much I am loving Shadows of the Damned.
Now if only there was more time to play.... ;_;

Heya!
This has been a while coming, but I just wanted to make an announcement!

A few months back I worked on a really fun project, it's called Tokyo Demons, an online novel written by Lianne Sentar.
The story is dark and action packed and the characters are very believable, so it's interesting to see their struggle as things goes along. As for my part, I did an illustration for each chapter, as well as character pics. If all goes well, I'll be doing more for the next books. ^_^

So please take a look, it's free to read, it's updated monthly, and there's even going to be an audio adaptation coming soon!

Forgive me if this blog post doesn't make a lick of sense, I've been a bit behind on sleep lately...like, as in the last 2 months.
Work on soulless trudges on..I'm currently floating somewhere in the vicinity of chapter 3 and 4 at the moment, as usual doing my best to stay somewhat on schedule. (haw!)
More on THAT business later.
So this past weekend I got a small break(?) from work to attend Akon 22, in Dallas.
I was a guest for the first time at a con, like an actually guest of the con, not just of Tokyopop or something this time.
I have to admit is was one of the better con experiences I've had! Time was well spent in artist's alley and I met a bunch of awesome artists in person, including The Darling Miss Amy Reeder Hadley, my sweetheart, Curry, E1n of WAITT fame, POWFLIP(!!) and The Magnificent Mr. Monty, a last minute and very delightful surprise.
Thank you all for being amazing buds during the con, and to all those not listed who I hung out with (you know who you are) *SUPER HUGSSSSS* XD
In case I'm too swamped to make another post any time soon, my next convention will (hopefully) be:
Otakon July 29 - July 31, 2011 | Baltimore Convention Center
Hope to see you there!

Yaaaaayyy~!!
I've finally been given the green light on spilling the beans to you guys about my new project!
The no-longer secret secret is a comic adaptation of SOULLESS, the super awesome victorian steampunk novel written by Gail Carriger, illustrated by me, and published by Yen Press!
The Soulless comic will be launched officially at Comic Con in San Diego July 21.
It will be serialized in Yen Plus, a monthly online anthology starting July 11, and as a full book next spring! YAYYY! (≧▽≦)
I've been into Victorian Era culture for a while now and have been working hard to study the intricacies of 19th cen. British life. So you can imagine how lucky I felt when I was offered the chance to work on Soulless, which itself is oozing with glorious Victorian era goodness! Being able to work with this subject matter is so much fun for me~~!
Did I mention there are also werewolves? Yes, dirigibles AND werewolves! (...vampires, too, of course, but more like the "Interview with a Vampire" type more so than the "Twilight" variety, thank goodness =.=;) The books have a lot of humor and action and danger in them... and plenty of tea and parasols as well. I feel like I'm getting to have my cake and eat it too.

SO! To promote the launch of the Soulless comic, Gail will be posting one of my character designs sketches for the book every other week on Monday until the official launch~
To check out her first post, go here!
ALSO~
In other news, I will be attending A-kon 22 in Dallas, June 10~12 as a GUEST this year!
I'll be in artist alley if you want to say hi! ヾ(*`∀´*)ノ

Now back to work for me!!
Fiiighhhto~!!

Finally!
I found time to post a blog entry!!
It's been kinda crazy for me this past month... I started a new job drawing comics! I think I mentioned it before... at any rate, I still can't disclose anything just yet, but I can say that it is another comic adaptation, and not an original series.
BUT-- it's still really cool and I love love working on it!
It's so nice to be working on something you love and to get paid for it too!! The best!!
The only thing is..it's SO hard!
But I feel like when I work this hard on something, then I feel really truly alive, you know? The schedule is pretty daunting, though, so I'm trying to find new ways to go faster without sacrificing the quality of the art and story telling. It's a real learning experience.

Here's something I learned: This pen nib is really awesome! I usually use the Zebra maru pen and Gpen, mostly the maru pen. But this is like...if the two had a really cool baby! It's the "Brause 66 Extra Fine "Arrow" Calligraphy Nib - Extra Fine Point" or the "Brause 66 EF". (I got mine at jetpens.com, but now they're out of stock.) Although I'm pretty satisfied with the level of control and flexibility I'm getting from this pen, it's sort of opened my eyes to different pen nibs, so I made an order for some other ones that might be cool. This one has really helped me out a lot, though, in tandem with Pilot's drafting ink, I've had to struggle a lot less with my metal nibs lately.

My desk has been pretty messy... ^3^;
Still trying to see if I can find some really good drawing paper. I'm spoiled and now have to use the bluelined B4 paper, especially since the publisher I'm working for publishes close to the Japanese dimensions than say, Tokyopop. But I'm really not quite happy with the paper I'm using right now. It's Maxon B4 135kg Comic paper. I'm just about out of my Maxon Comic paper (which seems indistinguishable, but is actually quite a bit better) but I can't find any place to get it any more..I think they might not make it anymoreeee~ TT_TT If anyone knows of any good japanese paper, please let me know!!
So I'm on my next month of work.. and off to a late start. I got really sick right after last month's deadline and have been fighting off some weird stomach flu thing all week. It seems to be clearing up now, but I don't really have time to get better at this point. So wish me luck!! I'll be at this for a while.. hopefully I'll be able to say publicly what I'm working on in the next couple of months because I'm DYING to talk about it!
